Tim is a counseling student in the M.A. Counseling Program at Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon, degree anticipated in April 2025. He obtained a B.A. in Communications and Writing from North Park University. He has previous internship experience working with addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorders, PTSD, and social anxiety. Tim has several years of experience working with vulnerable children, adults, and young adults experiencing trauma, failure to thrive, PTSD, and other diagnoses. He also has experience working with individuals as a court-appointed special advocate, therapeutic foster parent, and residential counselor. Tim has mentored in and outside of his church, helping individuals with various issues, including grief and loss, abandonment, faith issues, anxiety, depression, and identity issues.
Tim believes that the client has within themselves the ability to grow and change. His role as the counselor is to collaborate with people to identify their strengths and the resilience that will bring about hope and healing. He approaches therapy with unconditional positive regard and empathy that honors the uniqueness of each person. Tim approaches therapy from a Christian worldview, but out of care and respect, always makes space to prioritize the worldview of the client.
